Withdraw a lot from auction

Modified on Mon, 27 Mar, 2023 at 12:35 PM

Sometimes, it is necessary to withdraw aka remove / delete a lot that has been added to an auction catalogue.

Pre-Auction

This can be easily done prior to the auction catalogue launching (when the auction is still in the Planned State)

Here is how to do this:

  • You could re-assign the lot to another auction, if you are moving it to a different auction

  • Or click delete on the Lot box, within the Edit item page

  • Or simply delete it directly from the Catalogue page

During Auction

However, once the auction has been launched and is in progress we have to use a different method as the lot numbers are ‘locked’ and cannot be moved around at this point.

On the lot detail page there is a button called Withdraw from Sale.

Clicking this will withdraw the lot from the auction. It will still appear on the Catalogue datagrid but will be greyed out. It will not appear on any public-facing screens.

The lot can’t be removed if it is already sold or unsold.

The lot can be returned to the auction by clicking Return to Sale.
