Auctions within Snoofa can have a number of statuses, depending on what state they are in within the Auction Lifecycle
Here is a quick outline of the different statues that apply to auctions.
Status | Explanation |
---|---|
PLANNED | If an auction is in the planned state, it has been created in Snoofa but in the future and is yet to be launched. It is possible to publish the details of the auction on the web module but no lots are visible and no bids can be placed. This is when all pre-auction preparation should happen e.g. cataloguing and upload of images. This online catalogue can be previewed before going live using the Preview Catalogue |
IN PROGRESS | If the auction is in progress, then it is open to accept bids and the Launch Auction button has been clicked. At this point, no additions to the catalogue or lots should take place. Some fields in the auction details and item detail pages are now ‘locked’. For a live auction the auction could be ‘in progress’ in advance of auction day, because the catalogue is open for absentee bidding. |
ENDED | When an auction is Ended, all regular auction bidding activity has been concluded. The lots will no longer list on the Web Module. Now is the time for the post-auction activity such as invoicing and settlement. Snoofa will automatically mark a Timed (online) auction as ENDED within 5 minutes of the last Lot ending. (A Live auction is marked as ENDED by an administrator clicking the Close button from the Auction Dashboard page) |
AFTERSALE | A live or a timed auction can be put into the Aftersale state after the regular auction has been concluded. This allows any (selected) unsold lots to be listed online for aftersale offers. The aftersale period will have a deadline for bidders to submit offers. This is an optional stage. |
ARCHIVED | Once an auction has been Archived, all activity related to this auction should have been concluded such as settlements being paid and the auction reconciled. No edits can now be made to the auction and it serves as a record as what has happened in the past. In theory, an auction never needs to be archived but it best practice to conclude all activity on an auction and then ‘put it to bed.’ |
