What if a client doesn't have an email address?

Modified on Tue, 12 Mar at 11:20 AM

Client’s email is used a unique identifier in Snoofa, so it has been a challenge for us to implement a solution which would make it easy for administrators to create buyers and vendors who don’t have an email address.

Drum roll please this is it:

Yep, it is that easy. Ticking this checkbox allows you to keep the email field empty and the client gets created.

However, there are quite a few things that happen in the background.

To start with Snoofa automatically generates a unique email address for this client. You can always go back, untick this box and change the generated email address to the real thing if the client eventually decides to join the rest of us in the 21st and creates an email address of their own.

This generated email address is in place just so that Snoofa can operate as its was used to. New functionality has been added to make sure that no emails will be actually sent to this email address. All correspondence is captured and shows up in the Messages section of Snoofa where an administrator can decided what should happen to those messages. Either they can be dropped and ignored or the admin can take some action on them.

A good example of this is the situation when you're sending out Invoice Questioners. These messages go out in a bulk, the once that can’t be delivered because the client’s don’t have real email addresses are captured and the admin can then for example call up these clients and update their invoices accordingly.
