It is also possible to delete specific images or all images for an Item. This article will tell you what you need to know to get started.

How-To Individual Image Upload

Uploading & also deleting individual images is easy, within Snoofa. Click on the File Manager button, within an Items Images section. Then just use the Upload Tab, to add images, via Drag & Drop or File Browse.

The resizing of the images (thumbnail or full size) is done for you. There are also two types of images within the Gallery, Cover & Standard Gallery images. The image you choose to be your Cover image, will be shown in the Auction Catalogue. There can only be one Cover image at a time.

All other images you upload to your Gallery, will be shown on the Lot Detail page. You can have multiple Gallery images uploaded & showing on Lot Detail pages at the same time.

How-To File Naming & Folder Structure

To Bulk Upload either by Lot or Consignment Number, images must be named correctly. Each file name represents a Lot Number for a specific Auction, or an Item within a Consignment. Then must be uploaded inside a Zip file using a specific Folder Structure.

NOTE: The name of the Zip file & folder inside containing the images, can be anything. Just make sure there are no other folders within the Zip file, or folders within folders

E.g. an image for Lot Number Bulk Upload, named 1 will be associated with Lot 1, & therefore become Lot 1's first or only image. An image for Lot Number Bulk Upload, named 2 will be associated with Lot 2, & therefore become Lot 2's first or only image.

To have multiple images for the same Lot, a "dash" is added to the filename, -1, then -2, then -3 & so on. Therefore for Lot 1 to have 6 associated images, the images should be named 1, 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, & 1-5. The image named 1 (with no dash) will be considered to be first image within the gallery & the Cover image.

INFO: After a files name is its file type. E.g. .jpg which should be added automatically by your system. There Lot 1's first image would show as 1.jpg if of that (JPG) file type

Folder structure for uploads is also very important. There needs to be one Zip file (.zip) containing the images. The images should be inside a folder, which is inside a Zip file.

| ├── 2.jpg
| ├── 2A.jpg
| ├── 3.jpg
| ├── 3-1.jpg
| ├── 3-2.jpg
| └── 4.jpg

NOTE: To Zip, select the images, right click, choose "Send to" then "Compressed (zipped) folder". For more on Zip files try this article on How-To Geek website

For Consignment Number Bulk Upload, images need to be named after the Consignment Number followed by Item Number. Each file name represents an Item within a Consignment, e.g. files named 1001-1, 1001-2, & 1001-3 will be associated with Items 1, 2 & 3 within consignment 1001.

If you want to add multiple images, add a "dash" e.g. 1001-1-1, 1001-1-2, & 1001-1-3. The image named 1001-1 (with no dash) will be considered to be first image within the gallery & the Cover image.

Just as with Lot Bulk Upload, Consignment Bulk Upload Folder structure is very important. There needs to be one Zip file (.zip) containing the images. The images should be inside a folder, which is inside a Zip file.

How-To Internal Images

The ability to hide uploaded images is now part of what Snoofa File Manager can do. There are various reasons that an Admin might want or even need to hide an image from public view on Catalogues. But no matter what your reason, you can do it with just a few clicks.

Make your way to the Item you wish to hide an image for, then click on the File Manager button, within an Items Images section. On selecting a check box or multiple check boxes an additional drop down box will appear, with 2 options, to Mark as Public (show) or to Mark as Internal (hide).
