Welcome to the notes for Snoofa’s last release of 2021. It has been a busy year. We have so many great ideas from all of the Snoofa Troopers this year, helping to make the software better for everyone, so thank you. We’ll see you in 2022 for the next leg of the journey. Happy Christmas and New Year.
⭐️ New Features
Unpublish (hide) an In Progress Auction |
---|
ADMIN WEB |
Up until now it has been possible to show or hide an auction online that is in the planned state. However, it has not been possible to hide an auction that was in progress (the catalogue launched). There is now the option to do this. So even an auction that is in progress can be hidden. This is done in the same way as if the auction is planned - by clicking the Retract button on the auction dashboard. One of the useful benefits of this feature could be private treaty sales. Perhaps lots are sold privately, outside of an auction, and still need to processed through Snoofa. Either a ‘single lot auction’ for one item or an auction with many ‘lots’ (private sales) can be created and hidden from public view. |
Small Tweaks
Clearer Compliance Dashboard Messaging | |
---|---|
ADMIN CLIENT ZONE | |
ID Upload not completed In the Compliance Dashboard (the screen that staff members see) for a client, we’ve added a message of Incomplete when the client begins the ID upload process (opens the ID widget) but does not complete it. | |
Upload ID has already expired We’ve made it clearer for you to see when clients have uploaded ID documents that have already expired with error messages on the Compliance Dashboard and the Check ID widget. We’ve also created a new email notification - which can be customised in the Messages settings - to inform these clients of this. | |
There is an ID to check We’ve made it clearer on the Compliance Dashboard when there is an ID that needs to be checked. | |
Address not found When the scanning software cannot identify an address from the documents, we are now showing a clear message. Checking the documents and the report is recommended. | |
ID Approved, client needs certifying When the IDs have been checked and approved, the further advanced checks are completed and clear, but the Check and then Accept & Certify button still need to be clicked for the client to reach Advanced. | |
ID Approved, client needs certifying When the IDs have been checked and approved, the further advanced checks are completed and show a match, so the client either needs to be accepted or declined. |

Bug Fixes
Sometimes, when trying to mark an item as collected, we were showing a message ‘Item #12 not found. Please try again.’ This was probably frustrating, as the items could indeed be found. There was no reason to display the message, so we’ll no longer display such unhelpful messages.
When submitting their details for certification, some clients were able to ‘sneak through’ and move onto the ID upload (advanced) stage before the card check had been completed - it was pending. As much as the clients were undoubtably happy about this, we’ve put a stop to it, possibly spoiling the fun.
This was somewhat unhelpful: in the new sealed bid auction type, when bids were downloaded from GAP (the-saleroom), they were duplicating themselves. You’ll be glad to know we’ve prevented this from happening again.
Instead of showing you a handy error message when trying to mark an already-collected item as collected, you were seeing a server error screen. Not pretty, but it will happen no longer.
Occasionally, when creating a collection PDF, the wrong client name would default in the Collector field. Whilst not a huge problem as this could always be changed, confusing nonetheless.
